About Us - Isaac Ishmael Initiative

First

The Isaac Ishmael Initiative is focused around the Abrahamic Faiths – in the God of the universe being intimately involved with redeeming His creation. This is most fully seen in the person of Jesus.

Second

We believe God is fundamentally FOR the Jewish people and for Muslims. He wants relationship with all people and pursues that relationship.

Third

Followers of Jesus are called to extend grace and love to Jews and Muslims – always. This means overcoming hate with compassion, combatting prejudice with inclusion, and confronting oppression with freedom that God offers everyone.

Brian Newman

In 2011, Brian founded The Isaac-Ishmael Initiative to bring together the three monotheistic faiths of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam.

Born and raised in a Muslim family, Ashraf was groomed from a young age to become the next leader of the family after his grandfather.

Elias Nawawieh

Elias Nawawieh joined The Isaac Ishmael Initiative in 2018. He co-leads our Holy Land tours and is the leader our refugee work in Jordan and beyond.

Belief #4

Our work centers around the person of Jesus Christ – his teaching, his claims, his life, death and resurrection. God’s grace and mercy is expressed most exactly in Jesus.

Belief #5

The purpose of Israel and the Church is to be a blessing to the nations and to bring people to God and into His Kingdom. The Church and Israel each have unique roles in God’s redemptive plan. The Church has not replaced Israel. The state of Israel today is not the equivalent to Israel in the Bible. Our theology is a broad Kingdom mission theology that includes Israel and the Church in God’s purposes.
